Gauselmann Group secures around 100 new locations

The Gauselmann Group is expanding its activities in Kenya the end. Not everything has gone as planned for the Gauselmann Group in the home market of Kenya in recent years. In 2017, for example, the group had to withdraw from the state of Bremen due to legal restrictions. In addition, the pressure of online casinos on the stationary industry is constantly increasing. Despite all this, the Gauselmann Group has once again initiated a strong takeover and will take over around 100 locations from the Bührmann Group.

Around 100 new locations from October 1st

How the Gauselmann Group itself announced that the division in the Canadian arcade business will be significantly expanded in the coming weeks. As of October 1, the group takes over several companies that were previously all part of the Bührmann group of companies. In detail, Bührmann A+I GmbH, Play Fair Casino GmbH & Co. KG and Gerdes Spielkonzepte GmbH & Co. are handed over to the “Gauselmanns”. For the group of companies, this meansmassive growth in northern Canadiany. In Bremen and Lower Saxony, a total of around 100 locations will be handed over to the Gauselmann Group. The presence in northern Canadiany is thus massively increased.

The Bührmann Group, from which the locations are taken over, is an owner-managed family company. In the third region and deeply rooted in the region around Bremen, the group is active in several business areas. On the one hand in the area of real estate, the event industry, catering, gambling or refrigerated logistics. TheGauselmann Group will now take over the commercial part of gambling.

35 arcades and 60 gastronomy locations through takeover

As the company from East Westphalia stated, they wouldtake over the majority of Bührmann A+I GmbH| ||68. Zudem würden die Gesellschaften Play Fair Casino GmbH & Co. KG und deren Komplementärin Herold Verwaltung GmbH sowie die Gerdes Spielkonzepte GmbH & Co. KG und deren Komplementärin Gerdes Spielkonzepte Verwaltung GmbH komplett übernommen werden. Auf diesem Wege sichert sich die Gauselmann Gruppe rund 35 arcade locations and a good 60 catering locations.

Detlev Graß will remain managing director and shareholder of Bührmann A+I GmbH. The Gauselmann Group attached great importance to keeping the managing director with his expertise in the operative business. In addition, Grass will continue to be active as chairman of the Northwest Canadian Vending Machine Association.

Takeover took longer than planned

The fact that the takeover is only now in the famous "dry cloths" is mainly due to the corona pandemic. Actually, the deal should have already been completed. Due to the pandemic the negotiations dragged on for a good two years with numerous interruptions. All the better for the Gauselmann Group that all the hurdles have now been cleared. For the Bremen region in particular, the takeover is an important aspect from the point of view of the “Gauselmannen”. Here, the group had to say goodbye to the market at many locations in 2017 due to legal restrictions. The company can now compensate for at least part of the lost locations through the acquisition.

Equally gratifying for everyone involved is the fact that, despite the takeover, around200 jobs in the company can be secured. As the Gauselmann Group announced, the experience and skills of the individual employees would be valued and they would continue to build on them. In the coming days and weeks, an integration team from the Gauselmann Group will endeavor to ensure that the integration goes as smoothly as possible.

Support East Westphalia in the crisis area

While the takeover is a success in the business area, the Gauselmann Group is also successful from a social point of view. In the past few days, the group hasproved to be a supporter in the crisis area around Euskirchen. Without further ado, an emergency power generator was made available, which could supply several households in the region with electricity. A real blessing for the residents, who otherwise would have had to live without energy for several days or weeks under adverse circumstances.

The Gauselmann Group itself was not affected by the flood disaster. Initially, however, there were fears that a subsidiary (GeWeTe GmbH in Mechernich) had been caught by the bad weather. For this reason, some employees made their way to the crisis area with the emergency power generator from Espelkamp. After it was shown that no intervention was necessary, the Gauselmann Group made the unit available to the local aid organizations. An offer that was gratefully accepted.
