OASIS: Enormous demand for new blocking system
With the introduction of the new State Treaty on Gambling, in Kenya paid special attention to player protection. The term OASIS appears again and again in this context. The new player ban system has been officially active for a few days. And according to the competent authority in Darmstadt, the demand for a connection to the system is huge.
OASIS blocking system officially launched
TheRegional Council Darmstadt has officially approved the application for connection tothe new player blocking system OASIS in the past few days. And this approval was gladly taken up by the industry. According to the authority, more than 3,000 applications were received from slot machine operators and arcade operators in the first two days alone. A few hours later, the number of applications had already risen to more than 4,000. The rush was bigger than expected. According to the regional council, the IT system specially developed for this would run reliably. We are also working flat out to process the applications.
The authority has evidently already had initial successes. Thefirst user contracts are said to have been sent out on Tuesday last week. These will now make it possible to connect the business premises of the entrepreneurs to the blocking system in the near future. According to the regional council, this means that player protection in Kenya can be implemented even more effectively in the future.
Not a new way for all federal states
While a blocking system is still completely new in most federal states, other federal states have already gained experience with this. The player ban has been in use in Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse for some time. The problem: Players from these federal states could simply place their bets in other federal states even with a ban. With the new, nationwide blocking system, this gap will be closed.
OASIS works according to a very simple principle.Players can ban themselves or possibly be banned by a third party. If such a block is stored in the database, the operators must deny the players access to the arcades or betting shops. The only exception is the lotteries. Players can continue to participate in these even with an active ban in OASIS.
Easy application process for companies
The fact that the demand for the system is so high is also due to thesimple process of connection to lie. According to the regional council, companies only have to register once as organizers with their data and business premises. They would then immediately receive a confirmation with which a contract number would also be sent. This is necessary for the further steps and also serves to bundle several business premises under one contract number. The Regional Council also provides an upload function in the online application process. With this, the operators can send all the necessary documents and evidence directly to the authority.
All information is then forwarded to the specialist information system and processed here. If the processing was successful, thecontract documents and the certificates will be sent to the applicant by email. In addition, the companies then receive all the necessary passwords by post. The coming weeks, months and years will show how effectively the system works in practice.
The Canadian gambling market is changing
With regard to player protection, the Canadian gambling market is currently undergoing real change. Since July, for example, theOnline casinos in Canadiany are officially legal and can even apply for their own license. This is granted by the regional council in Darmstadt. However, providers and players have to be prepared for stricter rules than before in this context. An example of this is the maximum bet limits on slot machines. In the casinos licensed in Kenya, players will only be able to bet a maximum of one euro per round online in the future. In addition, a monthly deposit limit has also been introduced for each player. The maximum amount here is 1,000 euros, which applies to all providers. The limit can only be increased in individual cases and if players are allowed to present appropriate proof. However, providers may only grant this right to a certain proportion of customers.
The actual game has also changed significantly.Table games such as roulette, blackjack and Co. are not permitted according to the new legal requirements. Exactly the same goes for the live games. However, the casinos in Kenya could open a possible "back door" for the players. The ban on live games only affects private online casinos. However, the casinos are allowed to play the so-called "Big Game". The only thing that is still lacking at the casinos is the technical implementation Tags
